![]() Named in honor of Prince of Wurttemberg, a German patron of botany of the first half of the 19th Century. Known as Prince Hohenberg In appearance and cultivation, species of this genius resemble Aechmea. They have large tank rosettes which are mostly wide open. Their shallow or sometimes deep funnels hold considerable quantities of rain water. The genus includes over 40 species. Native to Brazil, Venezuela and the Antilles. Also found in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Cuba. Light: Upon adjustment they tolerate full sunlight. |
