All species are evergreens, native to SE Asia, NE India, Southern China, Indonesia and New Guinea. Their habitat is humid and heavily shaded. Flowers are unisexual, most species are open pollinated. Aglaonema species are cultivated as indoor ornamental foliage plants or house plants. They are commonly know as Chinese Evergreens.
